The Calverley
The long one. At 175cm it is the only piece here that takes a 75-inch screen without the television overhanging at both ends, and the ends are rounded rather than square — a full radius turned into the solid timber, which is why the grain runs round the corner instead of stopping at a mitre. Four doors across the front, cable ports cut through the back panel, and it sits on turned dowel legs so the whole thing reads lower than it is.

Two numbers decide this one. The cabinet has to fit the alcove, and your television's FRAME — not its advertised screen size — has to fit the cabinet. A 75-inch set is roughly 170cm across its frame, which leaves a hand's width either side here. Pieces are built and finished by hand, so allow up to 2cm either way. Materials & Construction
100% solid mango wood, in a smooth acrylic lacquer finish.
Solid mango throughout, with rounded ends turned from the timber itself and turned dowel legs.
Flat-packed. The legs and back panel fix to the carcass — about half an hour with two people, tools included.
Cable management
There is no open bay on this one. Instead the back panel is cut through with cable ports behind each compartment, so a box or a console lives inside with its cables run straight out the back and the door closed on it. Worth knowing before you choose it: a closed timber door will block an infrared remote, so if your set-top box still uses one rather than Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, The Aldbury or The Brampton is the better match.
